PeopleSoft is the second largest enterprise application software company in the world and the single largest vendor of mid-market solutions. With the much publicized acquisition of J.D. Edwards complete, the new PeopleSoft is concentrating on market and product expansion, giving customers more choice. They develop and support three distinct product families:

• PeopleSoft Enterprise (also known as PeopleSoft 8.x): A family of best-in-class applications based on our Pure Internet Architecture�, designed for flexible configuration and open, multi-vendor integration. It is ideally suited for financial, government, education, healthcare, and other services industries. It is also ideally suited for large, company-wide functions such as human resources, finance, IT, procurement, marketing, services, and sales across all industries.
• PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne (also known as J.D. Edwards 5): A complete suite of modular, pre-integrated, industry-specific business applications designed for rapid deployment and ease of administration on a pure-internet architecture. It is ideally suited for organizations that manufacture, construct, distribute, service, or manage products or physical assets.
• PeopleSoft� World: A leading application suite for the IBM iSeries platform. The applications are tightly integrated and pre-bundled on a single database, with a web-enabled architecture.

PeopleSoft is integrating valuable functionality between Enterprise and EnterpriseOne products, creating more choice for customers. Both PeopleSoft and J.D. Edwards applications have been designed with integration in mind, facilitated by tools like Integration Broker and J.D. Edwards Extended Process Integration, which are designed to enable integration with third-party applications. The integration is already underway:

• Corporate Real Estate Management: Integration in Q4 2003
• Supplier Relationship Management: Integration in Q4 2003
• Asset Lifecycle Management: Integration in Q1 2004

PeopleSoft is also developing new products by transferring intellectual property-product blueprints and domain expertise-between the Enterprise and EnterpriseOne product families. With the domain expertise, source code, and assets of PeopleSoft and the former J.D. Edwards, PeopleSoft is rapidly moving Supplier Relationship Management into the EnterpriseOne architecture and is strengthening PeopleSoft� EnterpriseOne Human Capital Management.Working the other way, PeopleSoft is leveraging the expertise and resources of the former J.D. Edwards to deliver Asset Management and Real Estate Management to the PeopleSoft Enterprise architecture.

The new PeopleSoft now provides applications for specific business processes in more than 20 industries. For customers, the acquisition means more product choice, more industry-specific functionality, and enhanced support.
